After years spent in youth detention center (and although they don't have, themselves, anything criminal they actually did for the most part), supervillains kids (called "Doom" like the Legion of) are authorized to join the boarding school of Hero High, where the second generation of superheroes (called "Justice")or sidekicks also is.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are Nightingale and Sparrow , respectively daughters of Robin I and III, and in front of sidekick's lockers doors , guess which is to who.  The phoenix like is Firebird (modeled after the fairy tailstoys) , the robin is Red and from now on Puddin the monkey won't be gone, simply on the floor.

I think Jo is innocently insensitive, she couldn't know very first students in sight would be those two-and she  would be that easy to recognize.

This is a relatively light hearted universe, because I feel the general dark mood and gory scenes that are now in comics goes right in my childhood. But this is not silver age under code, too! I don't mind allude terrible things in dialog as long as they are not depicted. The Joker was once played for laughs (60's TV show, silver age comics), for fear (Burton and Nolan saga movies, modern age comics) , or both (animated shows). I'll say he's the last, here, but he's still the dreaded.

And the facts brought here are famous enough to be considered canon (they happened in main continuity in comics). The predecessors are Jason Todd (Robin II) beaten and exploded by the Joker in A death in the family and Barbara Gordon (Batgirl I) whose spinal column was broken by a bullet in Killing joke -and thus was bound in a wheelchair for years  and become the Oracle . I dislike this event (Alan Moore who wrote it even backpedaled and said that Barbara wasn't raped that day although it don't seem so...yikes).

I mean, Batman quickly recovered after Bane broke his spine in two, but Barbara didn't?  Not fair, stuffed into the fridge, someone? Thanks God she got better since, due to neuronal implants (in the nonsensical reboot she is even back as Batgirl). Jason also got better because he resurrected as Red Hood.

Still, those were gruesome stories, no wonder why the little girls run away although none of them is blood-related to the victims.
